Carol Petrich, M.Ed.

Carol earned her M.Ed. as a Reading Specialist EC-12 from Houston Baptist University and was awarded membership in Kappa Delta Phi International Honor Society in Education. She received a B.S. in Special Education and Elementary Education EC-12 from Western Illinois University where she was a charter member of the Gamma Kappa chapter of Chi Omega. She holds Texas Educator Certificates in Elementary Self-Contained 1-8, English as a Second Language (ESL) EC-12, Gifted and Talented (GT) Supplemental EC-12, and Reading Specialist EC-12. 

 

Carol began her teaching career in Spring Branch ISD and taught First Grade for twelve years before becoming a Special Education/Dyslexia and Second Grade teacher.  Her training includes Reading Recovery, The New Jersey Writing Project, UDL-Universal Design for Learning, TBIS-Texas Behavior Support Initiative, Appraisal System Task Force, and Teacher Consultancy.  Most recently, she held the position of English Language Compliance Specialist in Tomball ISD where she served on the Instructional Leadership Team while providing reading intervention services for students in grades 5-6 and instructional support to classroom teachers.

 

Carol’s love of learning and her passion for children has given her a lifetime of purpose. As a pet lover, she enjoys spending time with her two rescue dogs, Annie Girl and Poppy, and her little cat, Jelly Bean.  Additionally, she enjoys cooking, gardening, and drawing/painting.  A longtime goal that she accomplished was completing the Houston Marathon. She is excited to join the staff at CTL and to work alongside educators and families who are committed to cultivating student passions and potential.
