Rachel Larchar brings a deep love of social studies and theater to CTL. She teaches Grades 5–6 and Grades 7–8 Social Studies—America’s Past—as well as Theater/Drama for Grades 7–12. She is passionate about helping students discover the people, ideas, and events that have shaped our nation and enjoys bringing history to life through thoughtful discussion, collaboration, creativity, and storytelling.

Rachel earned a B.A. in Journalism and Public Relations from Utah State University, with a minor in Choral Education. Her lifelong love of the performing arts has included serving as the accompanist for a university show choir, teaching piano lessons, and performing in several musical productions. She currently sings soprano in a community choir and enjoys ballroom dancing.

Inspired by the book Little Men as a child, Rachel later homeschooled her children for eight years before serving as a teacher assistant at a private school. She believes that a lasting love of learning grows through positive relationships, curiosity, creativity, and students taking ownership of their learning. She especially enjoys engaging students in Socratic discussions and collaborative learning experiences.

An avid reader and lifelong learner, Rachel also loves traveling, gardening, and spending quality time with her children—who, even in their teens, still enjoy gathering together to read.
