Performance-Based Assessments
At CTL, we believe that assessments should do more than measure — they should guide learning and growth. That’s why we use performance-based assessments, also known as authentic or classroom-based assessments, to understand and support each child’s progress.

Unlike traditional paper-and-pencil tests that provide only a snapshot, performance-based assessments give a fuller picture of student learning. These may include self-assessments, portfolios, projects, and presentations that highlight what a child can do and understand over time. Parents, teachers, and students can clearly see genuine progress and set meaningful goals for the future.

This approach also builds important life skills. Students learn to reflect on their own growth, think critically, and make connections between content areas and the real world. Because these assessments have intrinsic value, they engage and motivate students, boost confidence, and prepare them to transfer what they learn beyond the classroom.

At CTL, performance-based assessments are not just about grades — they are about celebrating growth, supporting individual needs, and empowering students to become lifelong learners.
