The ladybugs are here! We had some concerns in kindergarten. Our larvae entered the pupa stage over the weekend the temperatures dropped to the 30's unexpectedly. We did not have the heater on, so we arrived to a very chilly room that Monday morning. Pupa are typically a yellow hue, but ours were black and appeared dried up. Only one ladybug emerged. We feared the low temperature may have doomed our little spotted friends. This morning we still had only one. Magically, when we returned from morning meeting, we had five! Now we have lost count! Two lessons confirmed: never give up and everything and everyone develops at their own pace (Mrs. Manning).
